Celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month
During the month of May, we’re recognizing Jewish-American Heritage Month. As we honor and celebrate the past and present contributions of Jewish Americans, we are grateful for their incredible impact on Philadelphia and our nation.
We’re highlighting some of the local organizations that are uplifting communities in Philadelphia, providing crucial services and support during the COVID-19 pandemic, and facilitating opportunities for an ongoing connection and commitment to Jewish life.
Jewish Relief Agency is a dynamic volunteer-driven organization with a goal to help families in need. JRA distributes nutritious meals, hygiene supplies and household goods to over 6,400 diverse low-income individuals coping with food insecurity. During the pandemic, JRA has adapted and increased food assistance at a time when communities are experiencing food insecurity more than ever before. United by a commitment to help those in need, volunteers have provided crucial support by helping to relieve hunger and strengthen communities across Greater Philadelphia.
