Expanding Our Reach – The Committee Search is on!
We have had nine wonderful events since starting Volunteering Untapped PHL, and during that time have generated over 900 volunteer hours. This time was spent salvaging lumber, developing urban gardens, beautifying playgrounds, and packaging toys for children. Most importantly, the time was spent building a sense of community and togetherness.
Going forward, we are committed to developing Volunteering Untapped PHL into the city’s leading service community and have an even greater impact. In order to do so, we are looking for additional support for our Board through adding committees.
These are the positions we are looking to fill:
- Events committee: Work with the Directors of Nonprofit Relations to plan and coordinate monthly volunteer events.
- Fundraising committee: Help develop and implement efforts to attract non-grant funding and in-kind donations (such as coffee, snacks, and event supplies) needed to sustain and grow the VU-PHL service community.
- Grant Writing committee: Work with Board Chair to search and apply for grant opportunities
- Volunteering Untapped PHL Ambassador: Serve as an Ambassador for VU-PHL, build interest and brand recognition across Philadelphia
