Give Kids Sight Day

Volunteers needed to help give free eye checks and eyeglasses to children in need from the Philadelphia area. They need volunteers to assist 1,000+ kids at Sight Day.

What can you do?

  • Register children (data entry)

  • Serve as an Ambassador (welcome, escort and direct families to patient care areas)

  • Provide language interpretation — Spanish, Mandarin and Vietnamese speakers especially needed

  • Conduct Vision Screenings

  • Help with community outreach before the event

Philly Free Streets

Led by the Managing Director's Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, & Sustainability (oTIS), Philly Free Streets is back on North Broad!!

On Saturday, August 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., we will temporarily close North Broad Street to cars, inviting people to walk, bike, and play. 

Since the inaugural Philly Free Streets in 2016, the program has welcomed more than 120,000 people to enjoy car-free streets in various Philadelphia neighborhoods.

Bethesda Project Volunteering Opportunities

Bethesda Project serves 2,000 homeless and formerly homeless men and women each year at 14 sites throughout Philadelphia.

They are hosting a Family Picnic at Ridley Creek State Park on July 10th. They are in need of volunteers the day before on the 9th and during the day of the actual picnic.

Additionally they are also looking for donations including:

  • Full-size bars of soap

  • Men's belts (ideally sizes 32-40)

  • Men's t-shirts and shorts (new or slightly used)

Girls on the Run 5K

Girls on the Run 5K

Girls on the Run (GOTR) of Montgomery and Delaware Counties, PA is putting together two 5K’s on Saturday, May 18th at the Montgomery County Community College and is in need of race day volunteers!

GOTR is a nonprofit, positive youth development program for girls in third through eighth grade. They use a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively incorporates running to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident. On May 18th, 2019 over 1,700 girls will run, walk, skip or hop across the finish line, realizing their limitless potential.

Experience the magic of GOTR and volunteer! There will be two 5Ks held on May 18th, at 9am and 2pm at the Montgomery County Community College, and they are looking for volunteers for both races to help with several race-day logistics from registration to handing out medals at the finish line, and so much more! Global Citizen for Phillie's Red Goes Green Team

Global Citizen is partnering with the Philadelphia Phillies for Phillie's Red Goes Green initiative and they’re looking for volunteers to help the Phillies with their recycling efforts by collecting recyclable plastic and aluminum bottles during home games.

As a volunteer, you will receive the following:

  • A limited number of complimentary parking passes

  • Meal ticket

  • View of the game while collecting recyclables

  • Option to stay for the remainder of the game after the 7th inning

PHILADELPHIA’S LARGEST FREE EGG HUNT

7th Annual #PhillyEggHunt with 35,000 candy-filled eggs,

5,000 guests, and 350 volunteers serving the community!

Epic Church is hosting the seventh annual #PhillyEggHunt. The event includes:

  • Thirty-five thousand candy-filled eggs

  • A petting zoo

  • Face painting and balloon animals

  • Pictures with the Easter bunny

  • Inflatable slides

  • and much more!

  • It’s all for FREE!

The activities take place from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Egg hunts will take place every

10 minutes for age groups 1-2, 3-4, 5-7, and 8-10 and include special golden eggs

featuring tickets for the Philadelphia Zoo, Blue Cross RiverRink, Federal Donuts,

Ritas, and more. All children must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the

activities. Parents are encouraged to register at www.phillyegghunt.com for a

chance to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card.

Night to Shine

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On February 8, 2019, 6-9 PM, we will host 250 honored guests and treat them to a spectacular evening. Each guest will arrive to a red carpet with "paparazzi" cheering them on. Guests will be treated to dinner and dancing and receive VIP treatment including hair and makeup stations, shoe shines, photo booths, and karaoke. The highlight of the night will come when every one of the guests is crowned as a king or queen of the prom.

The event takes place at the beautiful School of the Future (4021 Parkside Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104) - off I-76 near the Philadelphia Zoo.
